Deciding which gutter company to hire it can be tricky.  You want to make sure you are getting the best product and service for your money.  You want gutters that will not only look great but last a long time and do the job you need them to. 

One thing that you should always ask about when choosing a gutter company is what warranties are included with their gutter installation or repair service.  If they’ve been around a while and treat their customers with respect, they won’t have any problem explaining their warranties for you and backing up their words with documentation.

There are two different parts to gutter warranties. They are gutter manufacturer warranties that focus on the materials used and gutter labor warranties focusing on the work itself. Both should be considered when choosing a gutter installer for your home.

Gutter Warranties

Not all gutter warranties are the same.  Coverage can vary greatly on the types of materials used, methods of installation and which manufacturer your gutter installer partners with.  If the manufacturer’s materials have to be shipped from oversees, that can add another layer of difficulty especially during supply chain issue times.

Gutter Labor Warranties

Gutter labor warranties are separate from materials warranties.  Be sure to ask your gutter installer what their gutter labor warranties include.  Not all gutter companies provide a labor warranty and some provide the bare minimum.  You want to be sure that if anything needs correction, your gutter installer will be there to take care of it without a problem.

A great way to find out if the company honors its gutter labor warranties is to ask for prior customer references.  A good gutter company won’t have any problem supplying some.

What’s Not Covered In A Gutter Warranty

Usually things like acts of nature such as damage from fallen tree branches or violent Florida storms are not typically covered. If your gutters are made of high quality materials and installed properly the chances of damage from these events can be greatly reduced.

Also make sure you follow any warranty guidelines so that you don’t void your warranty in any way.  Reading all the fine print helps make sure there are no surprises along the way.
